Rainforest
Mown path to creek
Ten years ago, our creeks, like most in the Illawarra, were a mass of privet, lantana and other weeds with little native flora. Today, they are returning to Illawarra Subtropical Rainforest, an endangered vegetation community. This continuing project (recognised by a Federal Government Envirofund grant) is the result of much hard work from ourselves and the bush regenerators we employ. It is a unique endeavour for private landowners and is one of the most successful rainforest regeneration projects in the region. Guests can walk from the house to a recently opened track leading up to the rainforest escarpment which runs adjacent to our land following, at its start, one of our regenerating rainforest creek banks.
